Shree Sthanika Dravida Brahamana Sangha

Sthanika brahamins of Udupi came together and decided to have sangha in the interest of to maintain close relationship, maintain and retain their culture and help the poor in the society for education, and learn Vedas , dharmika puja, and religious performance etc.

On 1964 on Mahashivarathri day Shree Sthanika Dravida Brahaman Sangha was formed and it was registered under society act on 1966 with the above said objective, by some leaders like Shri K. Raghavendra Rao, K Shymarao, Ambalpady Krishna Rao, U. Ananatakrishna, Dr. I. K. Shivarama Rao, Sri Y Sarvajna Murthy and so. It started with Chandika yaga, Sri shankar Jayanthi, Mahashivarathri, Rugu upakarma to bring community people together. Gradually it purchased 0.75 acre land and constructed spacious hall called Shri Sharada Mantapa to perform Religious Function. On 30-10-1971 it was inaugurated by Sri Ranganath shenoy, M. P., in presence of Sri Sri Swamiji of udupi Sri Kaniyur matta.) On 14-3-1988 as per the direction of Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyathirtha Swamiji and his shisya Sri sri Bharathithirtha Swamiji constructed new Sri Sharada Temple within the same premises and on 21-4-2007 new mini hall in the name of Sri Jnana Mandhira was inaugurated by Sri Sri narashimsharama Swamiji of Srimatta, Balekuduru to help the people to perform yoga, yaga, yajna, Bajana, and other religious functions etc. Sangha has completed its 43 years service to the society. When we look back, have got satisfaction of fulfilling the objective of the Sangha and dream of its founders.

Shree Sthanika Dravida Brahamana Sangha at present managed by 27 executive committee members with experience in different field of the society.
